Bowel cancer screening saves lives

Speakers: Dr Eleonora Feletto | Research Fellow (Thursday) and Dr Jie-Bin Lew | Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Friday)

Time: 1:20pm, Thursday 14 and Friday 15 February, NSW Seniors Festival Expo Presentation Stage

90% of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated if caught early. In this presentation, we will discuss how to increase your chances of early detection through the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP).

The NBCSP is available to all Australians aged 50-74, through free, 2-yearly screening kits which are mailed to their homes. If we can increase participation in the NBCSP to just 60%, we could save 84,000 lives by 2040.
